Sumalak Festival at the House of Mercy     

Humanity is created in such a way that holidays have a special meaning in its way of life. The holiday of Navruz is one of such holidays, inherent in the customs and traditions of our people. The Navruz holiday is one of the oldest holidays, its history dates back to BC. During these holidays, the thousand-year-old beautiful customs and traditions of our people come true. In particular, during the national holiday, neighborhoods, streets, avenues and houses are cleaned, trees are planted and whitewashed. Lonely old people, sick people will be eliminated. National dishes such as sumalak, haleem, and soup are prepared and served to the people. National ancient sports such as wrestling and pokkari are organized. In continuation of such good deeds, the Department of "Educational and Psychological Support of Service Activities" of the University of Public Security of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized in the House of Mercy No. 22 named after A. P. Khlebushkin  a "Welcome, Navruz!" rally under the slogan "Sumalak". In the artistic part of the event, students were treated to performances and a concert program with the participation of the university orchestra and the creative group "Krapovy Beret", consisting of cadets of the 4th cadet battalion. At the Sumalak holiday, talks about the Navruz holiday and the history of the origin of sumalak, the most beloved dish of our people, national customs and traditions were organized for children of the doshkazan. Various games were also organized on the occasion of the holiday. Sumalak, prepared for the occasion, was distributed to the children of the House of Mercy and the staff of the institution. The organized event gave everyone a good mood and Navruz joy!
