The Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications was established in February 2014 on the basis of the Departments of Information Technology and Communication Organization. In 2017, the Tashkent Higher Military Technical School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs came under the jurisdiction of the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan and this department was renamed the Department of Information and Communication Technologies. Since July 2021, the department began to carry out its activities under the name "Information Technologies" of the University of Public Security of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Purpose of the department:

Training of highly qualified officers in the field of information and communication technologies for the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, improving their professional skills and scientific potential, conducting scientific research on existing fundamental and applied problems, as well as developing scientifically based proposals based on research results aimed at improving the practice of ensuring public safety.

   The mission of the department is to teach cadets, students and listeners to acquire computer hardware and software sufficient to solve theoretical and practical issues related to the field and to use it in practice, as well as telecommunication, which is widely used in ensuring public safety. It consists of imparting theoretical and practical knowledge of systems and means of communication, teaching the use of radio communication tools and computer networks, and forming the skills of their practical application.

It also cooperates with state bodies, self-government bodies of citizens, higher education institutions (society departments), sectoral services of practical bodies and other organizations and exchanges other information related to its activities;

the department uses scientific achievements, modern technologies and information systems in its activities;

increases the foreign language and information technology literacy of the staff of the department, organizes and holds cultural and educational evenings, meetings;

may invite employees of other departments, departments, structural units, scientists, scientists, distinguished lawyers, as well as cadets (students) and trainees to the meetings;

the composition of professors-teachers of the department shall improve their qualifications or undergo an internship at least once in three years in practical bodies or other higher education institutions;

participates in the development of international relations with foreign educational and scientific institutions in order to improve the educational process;

studies, summarizes the experience of the most advanced professors and implements new pedagogical innovation technologies for the development of the educational process;

the department makes suggestions on creating and improving the educational and material base;

attracts highly qualified specialists with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the educational process;

supervises familiarization and work-study practice (internship), course work projects, graduation qualification work, as well as independent work of trainees (students);

working with talented cadets (students), organizes and supervises educational and research work with them, prepares them for participation in the Republican Science Olympiads and competitions;

preparation of educational and methodical literature, reviews (summaries) of newly published literature, including co-authoring with foreign scientists, and participates in the preparation of necessary educational and methodical literature according to the order of educational and other institutions;

conducting scientific-research works based on the approved plan, discusses the dissertations prepared by the members of the department and received by the university and implements its results in practice, recommends the publication of completed scientific works;

organizes fundamental and practical research by the teaching staff on the actual problems of the National Guard or other agencies of the Armed Forces in the areas of specialization and applies its results to the educational process;

In order to organize the educational process in close connection with practice, he scientifically analyzes current problems in ensuring public safety and combating crime, and communicates with practice offices on the projects being developed in connection with the implementation of scientific and research work. rnatadi;

uses the services of the information resource center, information-educational portal, educational, scientific, social-household, medical and other structural units;

chooses teaching methods and tools, carries out scientific research work that ensures the high quality of the educational process;

participates in grants, scientific projects, business contracts;

Khatamov with his project "Razvitiye nauchno-tekhnicheskogo obespecheniya bezopasnosti obyektov na mnogofunksionalnoy tekhnicheskoy osnove" in the innovative research contest on "Strategy of Actions in five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021" participated and received a grant of 20,000,000 soums, taking the first place in the fifth priority direction of the Action Strategy.

In addition, Ye.B.Tashmanov is a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal "Problemy infokommunikatsii" of the Belarusian State Academy of Communications, and according to the report No. 2 of the Council of the Belarusian State Academy of Communications dated September 26, 2019, he was awarded the Honorary Scientific Professor of the Belarusian Academy of Communications for advanced achievements in the field of science and education. title was given.

In 2020, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Department of Information Technology of the University of Public Security of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications of the Military Institute of Information and Communication Technologies and Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In 2021, an agreement on cooperation in the development of educational, methodological and scientific activities was signed between the Department of Information Technology of the University of Public Security of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Department of Management of the Daily Activities of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
