PURPOSE OF THE DEPARTMENT:

In the department, modern firearms are used in attack and defense, grenades, material parts, firing theory, shooting fundamentals and basic information on ballistics from firearms and combat vehicles. - the construction of weapons and issues of their care, methods and rules of firing from weapons are taught.

Training sessions are conducted by qualified teachers of the department and experts with extensive experience in practice. For this, the department is provided with the necessary teaching-methodical base and literature. In particular, the training is organized with the help of advanced interactive methods, which serves to strengthen the theoretical knowledge and skills of the cadets. Members of the team are conducting scientific research on current topics.

The department was established in 1988 under the name of the "Shooting" department. Since 2004, the name of this department has been changed to the "Weapons and shooting" department. Since 2021, it has been changed to the "Firearm training" department.
