On June 13 of this year, a presentation was held at the Uzbekistan National Library for the fifth edition of the book "Commentaries on the Criminal Code," authored by Doctor of Legal Sciences, professor, and honored lawyer of Uzbekistan, Mirzayusup Khakimovich Rustambayev, published by the "Legal Literature Publish" publishing house.

The aim of the event was to significantly improve the quality of informing the public about the essence and importance of legislation, and to ensure widespread use of legal information by government agencies and organizations. The presentation was conducted at the University of Public Safety of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where Rustambayev serves as the head.

The book "Commentaries on the Criminal Code" has been prepared with consideration for the new amendments introduced to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan by May 1, 2024. It covers issues related to the general and special parts of criminal law based on current legal documents, investigation and judicial practice, and decisions of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan.

A notable feature of the book is the inclusion of QR codes that allow readers to access the texts of the normative documents referenced in the commentary. The commentaries provide a detailed analysis of each article of the Criminal Code, explaining the essence of its provisions, the subjects and objective aspects of the crimes defined by law, and the content and application procedures of the established sanctions.

These commentaries are intended for law enforcement officials, judges, lawyers, researchers, students of the Academy of the Prosecutor General, cadets and students of higher military educational institutions, as well as teachers and students of higher education institutions and a wider readership interested in criminal law and legislation.

Speakers at the presentation emphasized that these commentaries aim to create a coherent system for conveying the essence and substance of social and economic reforms taking place in the country, the laws being adopted, and state programs. They also seek to reinforce the idea that "Establishing a culture of respect for the law in society is a guarantee for building a democratic rule of law!" and to promote legal awareness and culture among all layers of the population. The goal is to foster citizens who are well-informed about their rights, respect the law, apply their legal knowledge in daily life, hold a proactive civic position, and take a firm stand against violations of the law.
