CONSTITUTION – THE BASIS OF PROGRESS

On October 30, 2024, in accordance with the requirements of the Order of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. R-53 “On the preparation and holding of the holiday of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan” dated October 17, 2024, an event on the theme “The Constitution is the basis of progress” was held at the Tashkent Academic Lyceum No. 2 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, located in the Kibray district, with the participation of the faculty of the University of Public Security. The event began with an opening speech by the director of the academic lyceum, Lieutenant Colonel R. Otajonov, who noted the need for careful preparation for the celebration of the thirty-second anniversary of our Constitution. It was emphasized that the Constitution unites all citizens of the Republic around such noble ideas as people's power, human dignity, freedom and equality, social justice and solidarity. Dr. of Law (PhD) S. Yuldashev also spoke at the event. In his speech on the topic “The Essence and Content of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the New Edition”, he spoke about the factors that served as the basis for the adoption of the Constitution in the New Edition, about the differences with the basic law adopted in 1992, about the content of some norms of the Constitution, about the amendments made in the field of rights and freedoms of citizens. Speaking during the event, Doctor of Philosophy (Law) (PhD) Sh. Ikramov gave explanations regarding the principle of direct action of the Constitution, the rule of law, the “Miranda” rule, new legal norms introduced in the field of education. Doctor of Philosophy (Engineering), Associate Professor I. Kuldashev and Major A. Zhalolov also expressed their opinions on the constitutional principles and other newly introduced norms set out in the New Edition of the Constitution. During the event, the participants received comprehensive answers to their questions. In conclusion, the director of the lyceum R. Otazhanov thanked the participants of the event and expressed his opinion on further strengthening cooperation between educational institutions. Such events educate young people in the spirit of patriotism and respect for the Constitution.
