June 6 marks as the birthday of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin and is recognized as International Russian Language Day by a UN decision. On this occasion, faculty members F. Umarova and R. Atayeva from the Department of Language Studies participated in an event at the Pushkin statue in the International Center square in Tashkent's Mirobod district, dedicated to the renowned Russian poet and founder of modern Russian literature. The event was organized by the Uzbekistan Writers' Union and the Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan. Speeches were given by Sirojiddin Sayyid, the chairman of the Writers' Union, and the head of the Russian Cultural Center, among others. Students from higher education institutions, representatives of cultural centers, and literature enthusiasts attended. After a flower-laying ceremony, a concert program was held at the International Center, where cadets from our university recited Pushkin's poetry.
