On September 27, 2024. The Beijing University of Foreign Languages and Culture hosted an international forum dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Confucius Institutes". The organizers of the forum are the Chinese International Educational Foundation of the People's Republic of China and the Beijing University of Foreign Languages and Culture.At the opening of the forum, Mr. Duan Peng, Vice President of the China International Educational Foundation, delivered a welcoming speech. The forum was attended by representatives of Confucian institutions in 150 countries. Of the 5 first Confucian institutes established in the world, the Confucius Institute at TSU, the Confucius Institute of the University of Nairobi in Kenya, the Confucius Institute of the University of Maryland in the USA, the Confucius Institute of Stockholm University and the Confucius Institute of Seoul University are noted as the first established institutions. The Confucius Institute at the TSU in Tashkent was particularly noted as the first open institute in the world, and serving an exemplary 20-year development path.Currently, Director of the Confucius Institute of Uzbekistan, Professor of the Department of Languages Saodat Nasirova, (DSc), University of Public Safety of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was awarded for her 10-year exemplary work and spoke at the opening of the forum as director of the world's First Confucius Institute.
